It is with a very heavy heart that the SC Toronto family would like to express their condolences to the family of our former TD Joe Nucifora. After a very long battle with cancer, Joe passed away Saturday in the company of his family and loved ones.
Joe was one of those pure soccer people that touched the lives of everyone he coached and worked with. His infectious smile, work ethic, love of the beautiful game and breadth of soccer knowledge, made having Joe an incredible asset to any of the organizations he had worked with. As the news has spread through social media over the last 24 hours, if you didn’t know it before, we can all clearly see how many lives Joe has touched. It is very rare that you can find a person that did things out of an undying passion and an unselfish dedication to the sport of soccer, Joe Nucifora was that person.
In an effort to keep his giving spirit and his memory in our hearts for years to come, the Nucifora family and SC Toronto will be starting a memorial fund in honour of Joe. This fund (link below) will be used to help aspiring SC Toronto players or goal keepers that go on to a post-secondary education and embody the values and passion that Joe demonstrated daily. Both the SC Toronto and the Nucifora family would ask that in lieu of flowers, you please click on the link below and give generously to help kick start Joe’s Memorial Fund. In the near future, SC Toronto will also update you regarding events this comings season that will be held in order to help sustain the fund for years to come.
Please click on the link below and make your donation, it is a very fast, safe and simple process. SC Toronto will then match your donations, dollar for dollar,
to a maximum of $ 10,000.00 in total funds raised from this campaign.
