SC TORONTO NAMES NEW TECHNICAL DIRECTOR OF SOCCER OPERATIONS

Soccer Club of Toronto (SC Toronto) would like to announce that they have hired Paul Martin to serve as their new Technical Director of Soccer Operations. Mr. Martin is an award winning, 3x National Championship Soccer Coach that comes to SC Toronto with over 15 years of coaching experience. Paul has worked with all levels of soccer in Ontario from grassroots, OPDL, League1 Ontario, camps, clinics, district & regional provincial identification, youth, senior men and women, college, university, to international, and also aspiring professional athletes.
As a player, Paul played for various District, Regional, Provincial and National championship teams throughout the Toronto, and Windsor areas and is known province wide for his leadership in soccer. During his career, he played Semi-Pro in the CPSL with the Durham Storm and in the USISL with the Detroit Wheels as well as captained the University of Windsor men’s varsity soccer team in the OUA. Mr. Martin has extensive match official experience with over 33 years spent as a referee and also has previously served as a Technical Director at senior soccer club and at SAAC Academy.
“Paul brings almost 20 years of marketing and business management experience. We are pleased to have someone come on board who has such an extensive business background in addition to his soccer technical leadership” stated Joe Silva, SC Toronto’s General Manager.
“Paul comes directly to SC Toronto from having spent the last 5 years working in sports administration at Centennial College as their Sports Information and Marketing officer. He also taught Global Citizenship and Diversity as a part-time professor. We look for him to use those skills in our ongoing Coaching Mentorship Education Program.” stated Joe.
Mr. Martin currently possess his Canadian National B licensed as well as the US NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma, the Advanced National Diploma, the Goalkeeping Diploma, and the LGBT Diversity and Inclusion Diploma. He has obtained the OSA Technical Director and Goalkeeping Diplomas in addition to the Coerver Youth Diploma. Previously he served as an OSA Coach Facilitator and a LTPD Champion. Paul is also a candidate for the CSA National A, The UEFA B, and also the Masters of Sports Management from the Johan Cruyff Institute in Barcelona Spain. Paul has a BSc from the University of Windsor and is married with three children.
