Our Individual Development Program (IDP) will allow players to work repeatedly on their stronger individual techniques. This ball IDP will dive into the player’s toolkit to develop skills such as protecting the ball, ball control, 1v1 finishing, and how to apply techniques in specific game situations. Coach Tommy Bianchi brings nearly two decades of experience to the club, grounded in a lifelong commitment to player-centred development and elevating coaching standards across the youth game. A respected leader in Canadian soccer, he was honoured with the 2002 Ontario Soccer High Performance Coach of the Year Award for his impact and innovation in youth development.
Tommy has served in multiple leadership roles, including 10 years as a Technical Director, where he oversaw club-wide curriculum design, long-term player development pathways, and professional development programming for coaches. His work has consistently focused on age- and stage-appropriate training.
His coaching philosophy centres on meeting players where they are and helping them reach their full potential. He creates training environments that are supportive, challenging, and intentional, promoting technical growth, tactical understanding, physical literacy, and strong personal character.
Equally committed to coach education, Tommy is passionate about mentoring coaches and helping them deliver high-quality, player-centred sessions. He believes that well-supported coaches are essential to creating the best possible environments for young athletes.
Tommy’s academic background, a B.Sc. in Exercise & Sport Science and an M.Ed. in Distance Education, strengthens his holistic approach, blending sport science, learning theory, and evidence-based practice. A former elite player and scholarship student-athlete at Vanguard University, he brings discipline, leadership, and lived experience to the players and coaches he supports.
