
Jon Mondino brings a wealth of elite player development experience and a deep-rooted passion for the game to the staff. A former standout player and team captain for the Trent University Excalibur, Jon transitioned seamlessly into the coaching ranks, where he has spent over a decade refining the next generation of Canadian talent.
His impressive resume is highlighted by his tenure as a Head Coach within the Toronto FC Academy, where he led youth squads on the international stage, including the CONCACAF U-13 Champions League. Jon’s coaching philosophy extends beyond technical proficiency; he is a firm believer in the power of sport to build character, often emphasizing that a player’s commitment and hard work should always exceed their natural talent.
In addition to his success in professional youth academies, Jon has served as the First Assistant Coach for the University of Toronto Varsity Blues Men’s Soccer program and held key leadership roles as a Technical Director and Assistant Director of Coaching for prominent Ontario clubs.
His holistic approach to the “Ontario Player Pathway” ensures that athletes are not only prepared for the tactical demands of provincial, collegiate, and professional play but also equipped with the transferable life skills of dedication and teamwork. Whether mentoring young prospects in the OPDL or guiding collegiate athletes, Jon remains dedicated to fostering an environment where excellence and personal growth go hand in hand.
